- Building Bridges
New Banking Units Course
Updated: Feb 7, 2020
Everyone will need a bank account rather than a Post Office account when Universal Credit is rolled out. Many people with a learning disability still have just a Post Office account and will need support to make the transition.
Building Bridges Training in collaboration with Open College Network West Midlands has developed two new accredited units on banking; opening a bank account and using a bank account, to meet this need. Both are at Entry Level 3 and for 3 credits each.
The course covers knowing what documentation is needed to set up a bank account, how to avoid bank charges, how to find out your bank balance, setting up a direct debit and keeping you bank details secure.
