Research Group : Lecture Feedback

Updated: Feb 7, 2020

The Building Bridges research group members have been sharing their lives with social work and psychology students at a number of local universities.

This is some of the feedback that we have received from participants:

I found todays lecture very enlightening. I therefore think it would be a good idea to dedicate a whole module towards the social care degree.

It emphasizes the importance of having the opportunity to have service users involved in our lectures.

I fundamentally believe this is something that should continue in teaching in social care and social work programmes.

This service user participation in lectures was very beneficial. Real examples, real people, and real issues allow their actions to be truly understood.

I have worked with adults with learning disabilities for the past 3 years and it is good to see a lot of the issues that they find difficult brought to the attention of a larger forum in today’s session.

A brilliant session on service user perspectives, views and wishes. It highlights the difficulties people with learning disabilities face on a day to day basis.

Insightful session. Great to see a different perspective from real people, experiencing and facing current problems.

I thought the discussion was really informative as service user involvement brought the issues raised to life.

The discussion around quantitative data and the discussion from Satnam and Stacey were very informative.

Gave a really good insight from real people and their experiences on a range of issues in society.

Gave me an idea for a topic for my dissertation. We all loved every minute of the session!

Please get in touch with us via our website if you run a health and social care or social work course or programme at a West Midlands college or university and would be interested in us coming to talk to your students.
