Want to learn more about producing easy-read information?

We are next co-delivering a one day training event about producing easy read information at BVSC, in Birmingham City Centre on Tuesday 24th March 2026 from 10am to 3.45pm.

The cost is £125 or £65 for students. Drinks are provided, please bring your own packed lunch.

The venue is BVSC, Latham House, 33-34 Paradise St, Birmingham B1 2AJ. It is in Birmingham city centre and accessible via public transport.

The training will be held on the 4th floor, but there is a lift.

Easy read is a simple accessible format that people with a learning disability prefer. The day includes an understanding of what easy read is, why it is important and gives lots of opportunities to create some easy read information and get feedback from the members of Building Bridges.

The programme will cover;

  • Easy read - what it is.

  • Making the written content easier to understand.

  • Fonts, layout images etc.

  • Producing formal letters to people with a learning disability.

  • Easy read health and safety notices.

  • Producing easy read longer reports.

  • Accessible meetings including icebreaker easy read agendas, accessible ground rules, traffic light cards.

  • Accessible maps and signage.

  • Evaluation of training and certificates.
